Kathleen Gray Farthing graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Printmaking and Crafts. After a career in graphic design and illustration, she has returned to her fine arts roots with oil painting. Discovering “en plein air” painting (painting outdoors) has challenged and inspired her. The plein air painter not only views the subject, but becomes immersed in the scene; feeling the warm sun or bitter cold, hearing the birds, the water and wind.
