Tickets were purchased in advance for $10 using the "Buy Tickets" button on this web page or by calling the Maryland Center for the Arts office at 443-567-5216 for assistance.  Online ticket sales closed at midnight on January 18, 2019.

Tickets purchased at the door were $15.   The proceeds from ticket sales supported the nonprofit mission of the Maryland Center for the Arts to build and operate a center to provide the region with enhanced access to quality spaces to present, exhibit, and participate in the arts.   Tickets were non-refundable.

The Edgar Allan Poe's 210th Birthday Celebration included The Poe Project's premiere of Dark Descent: Within the House of Usher, a new, dramatic interpretation with narration, dance, and music, of the classic Edgar Allan Poe tale of horror, The Fall of the House of Usher.  Violist Peter Minkler, actor Tim Marrone, and choreographer/dancer Kathryn Elizabeth Kelly brought this classic tale of horror to life.   The event also included a special theatrical performance of "The Tell Tale Heart" by actor Tony Tsendeas.

There was an apple cider toast to commemorate Edgar Allan Poe's Birthday, and a special gathering around Edgar Allan Poe's burial site followed the event.  The event's emcee was Jeff Jerome, Curator
Emeritus of the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum.   Please note that Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher"and "The Tell-Tale Heart" has dark subject matter that may be too intense for children under the age of 8.  Parental discretion is advised.
January 16, 2019:  WBJC Radio interviewed violist, Peter Minkler, musician in "Dark Descent Within the House of Usher" at Maryland Center for the Arts' Edgar Allan Poe's 210th Birthday Celebration at Westminster Hall!
