July 12 - Rock Run Grist Mill Nice day for painting. The first of many (I hope). I may never get out of Susquehanna State Park. What a great place!

July 17 - Can you think of anything more absurd than a watercolorist painting in the rain?? Aarrgh!!
​I drove down to (my favorite) Susquehanna State Park yesterday and stumbled upon this scene. I 'always' do a little value study before I start painting my piece...[then] started laying down first wash(es)...It was drizzling from almost the time I arrived at around 10 o'clock, but I was standing under the protective umbrella of some trees and painting away, then, about two hours in, it started to POUR...
