Denise Matuk-Kroupa, Quick Draw Artist, 2018 Harford Plein Air Painting Festival. Location: Bel Air, Maryland.
What does "Prevail with Plein Air" mean?  Plein air is the French expression for "open air/plain air"; and painting "en plein air" means to paint outdoors.  Plein air painters create art "from life" while on-site at an outdoor location, instead of painting from photographs.
Artists apply to be juried into the competition to submit plein air paintings for awards judging.
