Announcing our juried artists for 2020:
What does "Prevail with Plein Air" mean? Plein air is the French expression for "open air/plain air"; and painting "en plein air" means to paint outdoors. Plein air painters create art "from life" while on-site at an outdoor location, instead of painting from photographs.
Artists apply to be juried into the competition to submit plein air paintings for awards judging.
The entry juror is: Ray Hassard and the awards judge is Cynthia Rosen.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see the artists at work and buy their original paintings in our virtual sale (Sept 18 - Nov 20) to support artists' businesses as well as the mission of the Maryland Center for the Arts to build an arts center for the region to present, exhibit, and participate in the arts!
